Supermarine Swordfish 36

Supermarine Swordfish 36

Originally built by David Skellon and Supermarine Motoryachts in 1989. The hull lines were drawn up by Alan V. Burnard. The interior design was by Ken Freivokh.

Later boats were built by Northshore Yachts of Itchenor from 2005More information can be found here

Five Swordfish 36s were exported to the Maldive Islands.

Vital Statistics:

LOA: 36' 0" (10.97m)
Beam 12' 3" (3.73m)
Draft 3' 6" (1.09m)

Earlier boats had large Ford Sabre engines (370HP?) installed, shaft drive with screw propellers.

Later boats typically run Yanmar 440HP  diesel engines on shafts via 2:1 ZF gearboxes

It would appear that the Swordfish is to make a comeback, slightly lengthened to 38 feet. More information here.
