Boat History

Hull No. 32 was sold as shells to Attrills of Bembridge (after flooding at Hamble Point) who fitted them out.

The Hull itself (the last of the stronger and heavier racing hulls) was towed over to Bembridge behind the yard launch Frolic.

Hull 32 was purchased by Leslie Irwin and fitted with twin Ford Sabre 180HP engines with which she reached 28 knots when clean and light.

As you can see No. 33 originally  had a somewhat different cabin style.

She was painted yellow and dark blue - the Temple Yacht Club colours and was seen on the Cowes waterfront for some time.

As to the name? She was at one time owned by a Dental Surgeon.

Based at Ramsgate in the early 80's. she was known to have competed in predicted log competitions.

In the late 90's she was remodelled more in line with the traditional Huntsman 31 coachroof but she retains her "thrupenny bit" windscreen.

She was renamed Sabre Knight and now resides in Liverpool Docks.

Postscript:
The hand written production lists note the existence a hull 33, this may have been discarded.
